Privacy policy
To build your plans we ask for health data. Here's what we do with it, and with everything else you give us, in plain English.
Who we are
Burger to Beast (burgertobeast.com) is run by Capysoft LLC, which is responsible for your personal data. For anything about privacy, email us at renzo@burgertobeast.com.
What we collect
- Your email and, if you give it, your first name: when you ask for the free guide, send yourself your calculator result, buy something or sign in to your account.
- Purchase data: the product, the amount, the date and the payment status. Your card details go to Stripe and stay with Stripe; we never see them.
- Health data (sensitive personal information): your answers to the plan questionnaires, like weight, height, age, sex, activity level, goals, foods you like or avoid, allergies, injuries and the health questions we ask before you exercise.
- What you write to us: questions from your account, your emails and the messages you send us on Instagram, TikTok or WhatsApp.
- Usage data: the pages you visit and some actions on the site (for example, starting a checkout), measured with Google Analytics, plus the technical data any server logs (IP address, browser, date and time).
The calculator does the math in your browser: your weight, height and age never leave your device. We only get your final number if you choose to email it to yourself.
What we use it for
- Building and delivering your meal and workout plans, and their reviews.
- Giving you access to your account and sending the emails about your purchase: your access link, your plan being ready and answers to your questions.
- Charging and managing your subscription or one-time purchase, and meeting accounting and tax obligations.
- Answering you when you write to us.
- Sending you the guide or your calculator result if you asked for them and, now and then, an email from us. Every email has a link to unsubscribe in one click.
- Understanding how the site is used, in aggregate, to make it better.
We use your health data only to build and review your plans. We don't sell it, we don't use it for advertising and we don't share it outside the service providers listed below.
Your consent for health data
When you answer and submit a plan questionnaire, you give us your express consent to process that health data for that purpose. You can withdraw it anytime by emailing us; without that data we can't build you a new plan.
Who we share it with
Only the service providers we need to run the service, and only what each one needs:
- Stripe: payments and subscriptions.
- Neon: the database where we keep your account, your answers and your orders.
- Vercel: hosts the site and, with Vercel Blob, stores the PDFs of your plans.
- Resend: sends our emails.
- Google: Google Analytics, to measure how the site is used.
- Meta (Instagram, WhatsApp) and TikTok: only if you write to us there.
Outside of that, we would only hand over data if the law requires it.
We don't sell or share your data for ads
We don't sell your personal information, and we don't “share” it for cross-context behavioral advertising, as California law uses those words. We haven't done so in the last 12 months. Because of that, there's nothing to opt out of, but you can still ask us about it anytime.
How long we keep it
Your account, your answers and your plans are kept while your account exists, so you can see them again or create new plans. If you ask us to delete them, we delete them, except payment records the law requires us to keep. Your email on our list stays until you unsubscribe.
Your privacy rights
Wherever you live, you can ask us to:
- Know and access the personal information we have about you and how we use it;
- Correct it if it's wrong or incomplete;
- Delete it;
- Limit the use of your sensitive information (like health data) to what's needed to build your plans, which is already all we use it for;
- Get a copy in a format you can take with you;
- Opt out of any sale or sharing (we don't do either) and withdraw your consent.
If you live in California, these are your rights under the CCPA as amended by the CPRA. Residents of other states with privacy laws (like Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Texas or Oregon) have similar rights, and we apply the same process to everyone. We won't treat you differently for using any of them.
To make a request, email renzo@burgertobeast.com with the subject “Privacy” from the email on your account, and tell us what you need. We may ask you to confirm it's you. You can also have an authorized agent make the request for you. We answer within 45 days. If we turn down a request, you can appeal by replying to our answer, and we'll tell you how to contact your state attorney general if you're still not satisfied.
Cookies and storage in your browser
Google Analytics uses first-party cookies (like _ga) to count visits in aggregate. We
don't use advertising cookies, and Google Analytics' advertising features are turned off. If your
browser sends a “Do Not Track” signal, we don't load Google Analytics.
If you visit from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, or your browser uses a European time zone, Google Analytics doesn't store cookies unless you accept. With a European time zone we ask you with a notice at the bottom of the screen. Until you accept, or if you decline, Google only gets cookieless visit pings without an identifier for you.
Your choice is saved in your browser for 12 months, and you can change it anytime, wherever you are: .
To keep you signed in, the site stores your email, your purchase code or your access link in your browser, so you don't have to sign in every time. While you fill out a questionnaire, your answers are also saved in your browser so you don't lose them. All of that is cleared when you sign out from your account.
18 and over only
The site and the plans are for people 18 and over. We don't build plans for minors and we don't knowingly collect their data. If you think a minor gave us their data, email us and we'll delete it.
Security
The whole site runs over an encrypted connection (HTTPS) and we use providers with security controls. The links to your account and your plans are private and hard to guess: don't share them.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we update the date at the top. If the change is important, we email you.
